// About Human Trafficking
Behind the pornography photos, the sex trade, the slave labor is a person, behind those photo is a real person, a face much different with out all the makeup and false smiles, its pain and suffering, a not so glamorous image, a life being destroyed for the momentary pleasers of others.
Human trade, slave markets, the buying and selling of people – these are words and phrases that, to many people, echo a brutal and distant time in our past. But to the countless women, men, and children trafficked every year, these words coldly define the horror of their lives. Trafficking is a global phenomenon where victims are sexually exploited, forced into labor and subjected to abuse. Trafficking is a crime under international law that requires international cooperation to address.
Not For Sale is about informing and a call to action.
Human Trafficking is Everyone's Problem
Can you imagine being ripped away from your family and sold into a lifetime of slavery or prostitution at age seven? This horror story was a reality for 1.2 million girls and boys this year. And the demand for cheap labor and child prostitution means that at least 1.2 million more children will be trafficked in 2010 if we don’t make protecting them a global priority.
